Services
Below is a list of services offered at our clinic
Acupuncture & Moxibustion Therapy
Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into specific points of the body to stimulate the body’s meridians and channels to promote health and well being. Acupuncture Therapy has been used in China for thousands of years to alleviate pain and illness. Depending on the condition you have, we may utilize any of the following types of Acupuncture:
- TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Acupuncture
- Orthopedic Acupuncture (for Musculoskeletal Issues)
- Scalp Acupuncture (used for Stroke and Atrophy)
- Ear Acupuncture (used for Addictions and Emotional Disorders)
Moxibustion therapy utilizes moxa or the mugwort herb. Moxa is used to warm regions and acupuncture points to promote circulation through the points to induce a smooth flow of qi and blood. Scientific research has shown that mugwort acts as an emmenagogue, meaning that it stimulates blood-flow in the pelvic area and uterus relieving congestion and pain.
Chinese Herbology
Chinese Tuina Massage and Cupping
Chinese Tuina massage is one of the main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine incorporating stroking, kneading, pressing, pushing and acupressure to promote the movement of qi and blood to treat both chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions.
Cupping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapy involving the use of glass, plastic, or bamboo cups on the skin as a vacuum suction. This therapy relieves stagnation, and is used in the treatment of common colds, pneumonia, and bronchitis. Cupping is also used to treat back, neck, shoulder, and other musculoskeletal pain.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way. Reflexology is used to balance the body and reduce tension and stress. Don’t be mistaken into thinking that it’s just for relaxation though. Reflexology has developed a reputation for helping with infertility, gastrointestinal disease, asthma, urogenital disease, back pain and much more. All patients are not given reflexology, but if seen fit, it can speed up the healing process tremendously. For example, it is highly recommended for chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and gynecological disorders. Reflexology should be done 2-3 times a week for optimal results.
Medical Qi Gong and Tong Ren Therapy
Medical Qi Gong and Tong Ren Therapy are forms of Energy Healing. Although these modes of therapies are not very well known, it is quite powerful. It can be very beneficial in treating some difficult conditions. There is a saying in Chinese Medicine that says “When there is pain, there is no free flow, and when there is free flow, there is no pain”. You can think of your body like an electrical circuit. When the electricity runs smoothly though the circuit, then the circuit is functioning optimally. Likewise, your body will be in a healthy state when your body has smooth and unhindered blood, nerve, lymph flow. Disease and pain often sets in when the body has no free flow. Medical Qi Gong and Tong Ren Therapy will aid with opening up blockages in your body that is causing disease and pain.
Magnet Therapy
We utilize magnets in the clinic to help with many issues that people may have. A magnet has a positive side and a negative side to it. Depending on the condition you have, the application of one side of the magnet on the site of pain often times relieve the discomfort. Magnet Therapy is quite popular all over Asia, especially Japan.
